Every year we celebrate birthdays for the people most near and dear to us. It’s our way of saying, “We’re so glad you were born and are a part of our life.” Sometimes we recognize their day by having a party, baking their favorite cake, or connecting in person or virtually. If the birthday is a milestone year, the celebration may be more elaborate and even include a special getaway, big party, or friendly roast. When our children are growing up, we put a lot of effort into creating themed parties and making sure they feel like they are the most important person in the universe on their special day. We enjoy planning those events and making sure they feel surrounded by love. No matter how extensive the plan is, the ultimate goal of our birthday recognition is to make sure that the recipient knows that they are loved and has a happy birthday! In our opinion, there really aren’t any specific rules for birthdays; it doesn’t matter what you do to celebrate; the most important part is that you make it personal. Our birthday labels are a nice way to add that special touch. We like to think about the person we are celebrating and gather ideas for things that we think they will enjoy, appreciate or just make them laugh.
