As summer’s heat envelops the Southeast and much of the country, it’s essential to find ways to stay comfortable while maintaining productivity. Embracing summer heat by getting out in the early mornings or early evenings are the best times to enjoy the outdoors, as temperatures are more comfortable at those times. During the heat of the day, however, it’s advisable to remain indoors. Now, what to do with all that indoor time? Well, We’ve found that those mid-day hours are perfect for tackling home maintenance, updating, or organization projects. We like to focus on smaller tasks during the summer—those that can be accomplished in a day or two. It keeps things manageable and satisfying without overwhelming us in the heat. Currently, we are refreshing a guest bathroom in preparation for summer visitors. This project isn’t a full-scale renovation but rather a thoughtful update to enhance the room’s welcoming ambiance and provide additional space for guests. Think new towels (guest, hand and bath – monogrammed if you prefer), a fresh coat of paint or wallpaper accent wall (our secret is peel-and-stick), better storage solutions, and a few decorative accents to make the space more inviting. We have everything you need to get this look in our project page. So, if you find yourself cooped up inside during those hot afternoons, embrace summer heat and tackle a quick project? Get the look and start your easy summer project. Using these mid-day hours wisely allows us to accomplish meaningful improvements while staying cool. Embrace this approach, and you’ll find that even the hottest of summer can be both productive and enjoyable. Our Bathroom reset items linked below! Garden Bounty…
Savoring the Season’s Freshest Produce… Summer is in full swing, and whether you’re growing your own vegetables or shopping at local farmers markets, there’s no better time to enjoy fresh, local produce. This summer, our garden is overflowing with vegetables – garden bounty, which has become the focal point of most of our meals. We’re currently highlighting the vibrant flavors of fresh blueberries, cucumbers, eggplant, squash, and tomatoes. The blueberries are not only perfect for snacking but also great for baking, jam and freezing, ensuring we have a taste of summer all year round. They also make their way into delicious blueberry muffins and desserts that everyone loves. Cucumbers are also incredibly versatile. We love using them in tzatziki and making homemade pickles—two refreshing treats that are perfect for hot days. Zucchini, on the other hand, shines in a variety of menu items, from side dishes to bread and even a favorite chocolate cake that always surprises and delights guests. And let’s not forget the tomatoes, which are at their peak right now. Their juicy, sweet flavor enhances everything from salads to sauces. We love the variety and versatility of tomatoes. If you have never roasted tomatoes, we highly recommend it. In addition to our bountiful harvest, the flowers in our garden are also abundant this time of year, perfect for making for beautiful bouquets. So, whether you’re harvesting from your garden or exploring the local farmers markets, take advantage of this season’s garden bounty. It’s the perfect time to savor the freshest, most flavorful produce of the year.
