You’re never too old to enjoy a fun snow day! Our daughter, a remarkable photographer, was able to capture our delight through her lens. Her keen eye and these snow day pictures enhance this post in a way that words cannot.
Living in the piedmont region of North Carolina means that snow days are not very common. Typically, we only have a few storms that bring measurable snow to the area each year. Some years we don’t get any at all. It had been three years since we had a notable storm at our house. So, having two storms that produced measurable snow in less than a week was a big deal. To make the day easier, we made chili in our crock pot and headed outside to enjoy the snow day, knowing we would have a delicious DIY chili bar waiting when we returned inside.
Do you look forward to upcoming snowstorms? Do you follow the weather channel and hope for snow in the forecast? We can understand how people tire of snow when they live in areas where snow is abundant. But, here in the Southeast, snow is a rare occurrence, and we relish it. How does snow make you feel? Have you loved snow since you were a child? Do you feel sheer joy when it’s snowing? Do you love hunkering down at home and enjoying some family bonding time?
This particular storm, we spent a good deal of time outside taking advantage of the highly anticipated snowfall. We went sledding, built a snowman and took walks thru the neighborhood and in woods behind our house. It was a wonderful opportunity to relax, reset and spend time together. We hope everyone sees the joy in these snow day pictures. Stay safe and experience the joy that a snow day brings!
