Apple crisp
Ingredients
Apple mixture:
Eight honey crisp apples
cord, peeled and cut into slices

butter

cinnamon

nutmeg

brown sugar
Crumb Topping:
3/4
cup
packed brown sugar
1
cup
rolled oats
old-fashioned, or quick cooking

teaspoon
cinnamon
1/2
teaspoon
nutmeg
1/2
cup
flour
1/2
cup
butter
softened
Instructions
Cook mixture in uncovered Dutch oven for about 10 minutes until apples soften and liquid reduces.
Transfer apple mixture to a lightly greased baking dish (either a 9x9 or large round casserole dish works well).
Mix together all the dry ingredients for the crumb topping then cut in the butter. Top the cooked apples with crumbled topping
Bake at 375° for 35 to 40 minutes or until bubbly.
Notes
This is another versatile recipe. Pecans added to crumb topping and/or cranberries can be added to apples.
